ABSTRACT
Alejandro will present a nostalgic tale of the security industry in Mexico, starting from the early 2000’s to the date: how the underground security community gathered in IRC channels, how we used to install Linux to test our first security tools, how we used to read the e-zines from researchers in other countries, how we developed our first shellcodes and exploits; suddently, it became an industry and many of us started to work in different companies, we replaced the e-zines for compliance reports, we moved from IRC channels and forums to business meeting rooms, we replaced metasploit for Microsoft Office.
